Muslims object as Namaz was underway in mosque located opposite the temple

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) – An incident of vandalism occurred at a Shri Durga temple in the Sihora area of Jabalpur district when Aarti was being broadcast over loudspeakers. At the same time, Namaz was underway at the Madina Ahle Sunnat Mosque situated opposite the temple. Muslims objected to the Aarti being played over loudspeakers. When Hindus opposed this objection, Muslims allegedly entered the temple and carried out vandalism. The incident took place in Ward No. 5 at Azad Chowk.

1.   Upon receiving information about the incident, the Police and administration acted swiftly. The Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General of the Jabalpur range, along with the District Collector and Superintendent of Police, reached the spot and attempted to bring the situation under control. A heavy Police bandobast has been deployed in the area, and officials have stated that the situation is now under control. The administration has appealed to citizens to maintain peace and remain indoors.

2.   More than 25 suspects have been identified in connection with the incident, and over 15 individuals have been arrested. Some vehicles allegedly used in the violence have been seized. Strict action is being initiated against those involved. The role of those participating in stone-pelting and the reasons behind the incident are currently under investigation.

3.   According to local sources, tensions had arisen earlier as both religious places are located close to each other. The atmosphere had become more sensitive due to the commencement of the month of Ramzan.

Editorial Perspective

Hindus never enter a mosque to vandalise it when Azaan is recited during Aarti; however, when Aarti is performed during Namaz, Muslims claim disturbance and attack temples. To put an end to such incidents, Hindu Rashtra is necessary !
