‘An environment of hatred and violence is being created in the country !’ : Maulana Arshad Madani

Maulana Arshad Madani fumes over Sarsanghchalak Param Pujya Dr Mohanji Bhagwat’s statement on ‘Gharwapsi’ !

New Delhi – Maulana Arshad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has strongly criticised the statement made by Sarsanghchalak Param Pujya Dr Mohanji Bhagwat regarding ‘Gharwapsi’. He alleged that an atmosphere of hatred is being created in the country and that violence is being encouraged. Recently, Sarsanghchalak Param Pujya Dr Mohanji Bhagwat had stated that “Muslims living in Bharat are also Hindus. Their ‘Gharwapsi’ must also take place.” (Sarsanghchalak Param Pujya has presented historical truth; however, converts often become more rigid, and such views are difficult for them to digest – Editor.)

1.  Responding on social media on 18 February, Maulana Arshad Madani said that in the past 70 years, no one had dared to speak of the ‘Gharwapsi’ of 20 crore Muslims, but such ideas are now being expressed. Any call that leads the country towards destruction, instability and mutual hostility cannot be termed patriotic, he said. (Restoring the true history and past glory of the nation is itself an act of patriotism ! – Editor.)

2.   He alleged that innocent people are being killed in the name of cow protection while the Government remains silent. (This is a classic case of the guilty crying foul ! Despite the existence of anti-cow slaughter laws, religious fanatics are openly engaging in cow slaughter. Those attempting to prevent it are being attacked. Is this not a violation of the Constitution ? – Editor.)

3.   No violence in the name of religion can be accepted. All religions preach humanity, tolerance, love and unity, Madani stated, adding that those who use religion to spread hatred and violence cannot be considered true followers of their faith. (Given the historical branding of Hindus as ‘kafirs’ and calls for their elimination, is it not ironic to preach humanity, tolerance and love to others ? – Editor.)
