Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) — Tamanna Malik, who carried Gangajal in a kanwar while dressed in a burqa and performed jalabhishek on the occasion of Mahashivratri, has reportedly received threats of being burnt alive. After Tamanna and her husband, Aman Tyagi, lodged a complaint at the local police station, a case was registered and an investigation has been initiated.

1. Tamanna Malik, a resident of Badanpur Basai village in Sambhal, returned from Haridwar on February 14 carrying a kanwar, accompanied by her husband Aman Tyagi. Police personnel and volunteers were present at the time.

2. On February 15, she performed abhishek on the Shivling at Kshemanath Tirth in Sambhal. Dressed in a burqa, she offered Gangajal, milk, and curd in the presence of Mahant Bal Yogi Deenanath.

3. Following the ritual, Mahant Bal Yogi Deenanath presented Tamanna Malik with a sword for self-defence. She reportedly brandished the sword and responded to those questioning her attire by stating that “the burqa does not belong exclusively to any one community.”
