Will put up Tipu Sultan’s picture again once the office renovation is completed : Malegaon Deputy Mayor Shan-e-Hind

Shan-e-Hind insists on putting up Tipu Sultan’s picture despite strong opposition from Hindus

Deputy Mayor Shan-e-Hind Nihal Ahmed and the painting of Tipu Sultan displayed in his office

Malegaon (Dist. Nashik) – The conspiracy to glorify Tipu Sultan, a tyrant who massacred thousands of Hindus and destroyed temples, has once again emerged in Malegaon. Deputy Mayor Shan-e-Hind made a provocative statement at a reception organized in the fort area here, that Tipu Sultan’s picture would be re-installed in her office once the renovation work is completed. This has angered the pro-Hindutva people.

1. As soon as the newly elected Mayor Nasreen Bano and Deputy Mayor Shan-e-Hind took charge, a photograph of the anti-Hindu Tipu Sultan was displayed in the Deputy Mayor’s office. After this video was circulated on social media, Shiv Sena and pro-Hindu organizations approached the Commissioner and demanded immediate removal of the photograph. The photograph was removed after the order of the Municipal Secretary to avoid law and order issues.

2. Shiv Sena corporators have already warned that if the photo is put up again, a strong protest will be launched.

Arrogance of Shan-e-Hind

Deputy Mayor Shan-e-Hind asked what is wrong in putting up a picture of a warrior who fought against the British ? Once the renovation work of the office is completed, the picture will be put up again. (Establishing an invader and a tyrant Tipu Sultan as a ‘warrior’ is an old trick of religious fanatics – Editor).

Editorial Perspectives

  • Can the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj even be uttered in Bangladesh or Pakistan ? But Tipu Sultan is glorified in India. This shows the lack of Kshatriya tendency (warrior spirit) among Hindus.
  • This incident is an example of what happens when fanatic Muslim leaders are elected in India. Don’t be surprised if, in future, this Deputy Mayor asks Muslims to idolize Tipu Sultan and provokes them.
  • Talking of re-installing the picture that has been removed, is a violation of administrative rules and a challenge to the law.
