Bengaluru (Karnataka) – A case of love jihad has come to light here. A Hindu victim has filed a police complaint against her Muslim husband, Syed Imtiaz. The victim is from Kolkata. About a year ago, Imtiaz from Bengaluru contacted her through Instagram. He drew her into a love trap and, going against her family’s opposition, performed nikah (marriage as per Islamic rites) with her in Bengaluru. Later, after she gave birth to a child, Imtiaz abandoned her. He is currently absconding. Opposing this incident, she released a video expressing her ordeal. Imtiaz is a resident of the BTM Layout area in Bengaluru.

1. The young woman has alleged that Imtiaz’s parents are also supporting him. In the video circulating on social media, she stated that she was converted before the marriage, and after the birth of their daughter, her husband deceived them and abandoned them.

2. The young woman further said that Imtiaz’s parents appear unconcerned about their son and instead ask her why she is so disturbed. Their nikah was performed on 18 July 2025. Since the child’s birth, she has not been allowed to enter the house. She is homeless and wandering with her infant daughter. She has no money for accommodation.

3. After the video was released, the victim also informed the police that her lawyers have been continuously receiving threatening phone calls.
