Fanatic Muslims try to Immolate a Christian Young Woman after Pressurising Her to Convert

  • A ‘Love Jihad’ case in Pune

  • Case filed after intervention of devout Hindu organisations

Pune – A Muslim named Paigambar Nadaf trapped a Christian young woman in the net of false love and tried to force her to convert to Islam. As per the victim’s allegations, he promised to marry her and sexually exploited her. He and his family tried to set her on fire when she asked him about marriage. Initially, the Police tried to avoid even filing a case.

1. The Christian woman got  introduced to the fanatic named Paigambar Nadaf through ‘Instagram’ about three years back. He promised to marry her and won her trust. He often sexually exploited her and started putting pressure on her for converting to Islam.

2. She was warned that she would have to accept Islam if she wanted to marry him; wear ‘burqa’ and perform the religious rituals followed under Islam. She used to be mentally oppressed if she didn’t wear ‘burqa’.

3. A few days ago, the victim went to the house of the accused to discuss about their marriage when Nadaf and his family members tried to kill her. He threatened her to do whatever she wanted but he would leave her. They poured petrol in her eyes and on her body and tried to set her on fire. The victim, however, showed presence of mind and saved herself, avoiding what could have been a disaster.

Indifference of Police

The victim had gone to the Police on number of occasions; but they didn’t take her seriously, is a serious accusation made by her against the Police. Finally, devout Hindu organisations intervened in the matter when a case has been filed against Paigambar Nadaf at Kondhwa Police station.

Will those secularists, who refuse to accept existence of ‘Love Jihad’, be able to hear cries of the victim ? Will the Government now give priority to passing of an Act against ‘Love Jihad’ and squash such jihadi tendencies ?
  • Why are the Police not aware of such incidents till the devout Hindu organisations take to streets ? The indifference exhibited by the Police in such sensitive matters encourages criminals to go on.
