Information given by Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil says water from the Indus River will not be given to Pakistan, and the flow towards the country will be stopped for India’s benefit. Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi will gain from this water.
He adds that the central government is preparing an action plan, and a Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been made to divert the water, but he did not comment on water released out of compulsion.
Patil also said the Yamuna water project will be expedited to help states benefit from better water management. He made this statement to the media at the BJP headquarters in Jaipur on Saturday.
Work on Yamuna water project to start soon Union Minister Patil said Rajasthan had a right to Yamuna water, but previous governments made no concrete efforts. Now, Haryana and Rajasthan have agreed to prepare a DPR, and work on the project will start soon.
He estimated the pipeline scheme could cost Rs 77,000 crore to Rs 1 lakh crore. While Rajasthan currently has the least water, it is expected to have the most in the future, with the Chief Minister actively engaging the Centre for positive results.
