Even China does not trust Pakistan : Maulana Fazlur, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Pakistan

A reality check for Pakistan

Maulana Fazlur

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan now has not a single friend left at the global level. Although China is considered Pakistan’s closest ally, even China no longer trusts Pakistan, said Maulana Fazlur Rahman, chief of Pakistan’s religious political party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. Fazlur Rahman sharply criticised the Shehbaz Sharif government and the country’s military establishment. He stated that due to decades of flawed foreign policy, Pakistan has become completely isolated.

Speaking at an event, Fazlur Rahman said that today India is an enemy, Afghanistan is an enemy, and Iran as well as China are also displeased with Pakistan. He accused the leadership of Pakistan’s armed forces of failing to take firm decisions and said that there are differing ideologies within the military.

China–Pakistan Economic Corridor a failure

Fazlur Rahman termed the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a failure. He claimed that no progress has been made on this project during Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure because China no longer trusts Pakistan. He added that the Sharif government has failed to regain China’s lost confidence.
