Verses from the Quran written after removal of pictures of great personalities from the walls of a government school in Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh)

Laxmanpuri (UP) – It came to the light that Quran verses have been written on the walls of the government primary school in Nagla Purva village of Kudhfatehgarh in Sambhal district and pictures of great personalities have been removed from the Quran. The education authorities have immediately suspended the school’s headmistress Pushpa Devi and assistant teacher Mohammad Nazim. Headmistress Pushpa has held only Najim responsible for the entire episode.

1. On 6th February, activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal came to know about religious activities going on in the school. After this, a large number of activists reached the school and started a protest movement.

2. The activists alleged that the pictures of the Prime Minister, Bharat Mata, Shri Saraswati Devi, Subhash Chandra Bose and other great personalities were removed from the walls and kept in a room and verses from the Quran were written on the walls.

3. Devout Hindus raised slogans saying that it was against the rules of the government school. They also alleged that jihad was being carried out in the school.

4. On receiving information about the commotion, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The matter was pacified after discussions with both sides. A written complaint has been lodged with the police station on behalf of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal.

5. Education Officer Alka Sharma ordered a departmental inquiry into the entire matter. The police are also investigating the matter.
