Mumbai – In 2012, severe and unprecedented atrocities were committed by the Pakistani system against a minor Hindu girl, Rinkle Kumari, in Pakistan. A short film titled ‘Rinkle’, based on this true incident, has recently been made. Human Rights Activist Mahesh Vasu Moves Bombay High Court to Protect his NHRC-Entry Film ‘RINKLE’ from Unauthorized Exploitation & Copyright Infringement. Vasu shared this information through a press release. He clarified that he has filed the suit against Sanjeeb Das from Mumbai and Rahul Sharma of the US-based organisation Indus Valley Minorities.

Through the press release, Mr Vasu stated,

1. Sanjeeb Das and Rahul Sharma have carried out unauthorised sale, transfer, copyright infringement, and misuse of the short film ‘Rinkle’. He had submitted an application in India on 7 September 2025 for copyright registration of the literary work of the short film.

2. He has also officially submitted the short film ‘Rinkle’ as an entry to the National Human Rights Commission’s 2025 Short Film Competition, the results of which are still pending.

3. While the legal proceedings are ongoing, any individual or organisation that promotes, screens, distributes, or digitally broadcasts ‘Rinkle’ or any adapted version of the short film (for example, ‘Sindh Files’) will be doing so at their own legal risk and may face further legal action. Mr Vasu issued this clear warning through the press release.
