Hindu businessman insulted over religion by a Saudi national

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) – An Indian businessman was insulted by a Saudi national for being a Hindu at a trade fair held in the city. The video of the incident has gone viral. In the video, the Saudi national is seen standing near a stall set up by an Indian company. He makes some statements in Arabic. The national is seen criticizing the businessman’s religious identity, repeatedly saying, “Not a single Muslim works in this company.” The video has drawn widespread criticism on social media.

1. This video was posted by Amjad Taha, a political analyst from the United Arab Emirates, criticizing the actions of a Saudi Arabian citizen on ‘X’. He said, ‘Being Indian is not an insult. Criticizing or harassing anyone on the basis of religion has no place in modern society. Such behaviour is shameful and unacceptable.’

2. There has been a strong reaction on social media regarding this matter and this behaviour is being condemned. Many have said that a professional should be measured by his professional skills and abilities. He cannot be measured by religion.

3. At present, no official complaint has been filed regarding this incident, nor have any comments been made by Saudi Arabian authorities or the organizers of the exhibition.
