Quetta (Balochistan) – The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) announced the second phase of its struggle against Pakistan from the morning of 31 January. Under ‘Operation Herof’, intense attacks have been launched simultaneously in 12 major cities, including the capital Quetta, in protest against the killing of 41 Baloch people by Pakistani forces. The BLA has taken control of several police stations and government buildings. In these attacks, 20 Pakistani soldiers have been killed.

The BLA opened fronts simultaneously in Quetta as well as in the districts of Gwadar, Nushki, Mastung and Pasni. In Mastung, a police station was taken over and 30 detainees were freed. The situation has become so severe that in many places Pakistani soldiers were forced to abandon their checkpoints and retreat. Pakistani forces are now carrying out aerial attacks on the Baloch Liberation Army using combat helicopters.

Decisive phase for freedom ! – Appeal by BLA chief

BLA commander Bashir Zeb Baloch, in a video message, described these attacks as a ‘decisive phase’ in the struggle for the freedom of the motherland. He appealed to ordinary citizens to come out of their homes and support the Baloch forces. He also warned that ‘the Baloch forces will eliminate the enemy from every lane and locality’.

This is the next phase of ‘Operation Herof’, which began in August 2024. The Baloch forces had earlier claimed that 130 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the first phase.

The Baloch forces also issued a warning to China, stating that it should stay away from projects in Gwadar and Balochistan, otherwise the consequences would be serious.
