Joko Widodo, former Muslim President of Indonesia, visits Shri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati

His video while walking inside the temple premises with folded hands has been circulated

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) – Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who is a Muslim, had a darshan of Deity Venkateswara at the Shri Venkateswara Swami Temple here on January 29th. On this occasion, he also got the honour of performing puja as informed by an official of the Tirumala-Tirupati Temple. A video has gone viral showing Widodo walking around the temple premises with folded hands.

After darshan, Widodo was offered silk clothes, prasad of the Deity and a photograph of Shri Venkateswara at the Ranganayakula Mandapam. The event assumes greater significance as the former president of the world’s largest Islamic country visited the temple. Widodo was the President of Indonesia for 10 years from 2014 to 2024.
