Karnavati (Gujarat) – The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested Faizan Sheikh for allegedly plotting to murder seven individuals accused of making objectionable statements about Islam and the Prophet. Sheikh, a native of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, had been working as a tailor in Navsari.

According to ATS officials, the investigation revealed that Sheikh was influenced by the extremist ideologies of the banned terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Al-Qaeda. During questioning, he reportedly admitted that he had been gathering information about people who had spoken against the Prophet. He had compiled a list of targets from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Police further stated that Sheikh had purchased a revolver using money earned from his tailoring work, allegedly intending to use it to carry out the killings. However, the ATS arrested him before the plan could be executed. Authorities also seized 29 pages of handwritten material in Urdu and Arabic from his possession, which are currently being examined.

Faizan  had made a list of seven names, Abhishek Thakur, Daksh Chaudhary, Gaurav Rajput, Dr, Prakash, Yudhi Rana, Akku pandit and Vikrant.
