
Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) – A young man identified as Rohit committed suicide at his residence in the Panki area of Kanpur. Prior to the incident, he reportedly recorded a video alleging that he was under pressure to convert to another religion and stated that he would not renounce his faith. Following the incident, family members staged a protest by placing the body on the road and demanded action against those allegedly involved. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
1. In his video message, Rohit also emphasized the need to curb addiction in the country and called for greater respect toward women. He additionally expressed remorse for the mistakes he had made in his life.
2. Relatives have alleged that Rohit had been under sustained pressure to convert to another religion, which they believe led to the incident. They also stated that his behavior had appeared unusual over the past three to four days. According to his sister, Rohit was allegedly assaulted by certain individuals during a visit to Lakshmanpuri.
