
Islamabad (Pakistan) – In Pakistan’s Balochistan province, militants of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) carried out an attack on the Pakistani military. In the attack, 12 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 6 soldiers were injured. The clash occurred in the Panjgur district, where Pakistani troops were targeted, a BLA spokesperson said.
BLA spokesperson Jiand Baloch stated that the attack was carried out when a unit of the Pakistani army was attempting to enter the Sorab area. During the operation, one vehicle of the Pakistani military was completely destroyed.
Jiand Baloch described the attack as “part of the ongoing armed struggle for the independence of the Baloch nation.” He said that their group would continue to target the Pakistani military in the future.
Another group in Balochistan, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), has also claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military base. BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that fighters carried out a grenade launcher attack on a Pakistani base in the Balicha area.
