Terrorism is Pakistan’s state policy and will not be tolerated

India yet again reprimands Pakistan at the United Nations

New York (USA) – Terrorism can never be normalised. Pakistan seeks to do so, but it will not be accepted. Terrorism is Pakistan’s state policy, and it will not be tolerated, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, P. Harish, stated in strong words while reprimanding Pakistan. Pakistan had told the Security Council that India’s response to “Operation Sindoor” cannot create any “new normal” between the two countries through coercion. India gave the above response to this claim.

India firmly stated that this august forum cannot become a platform for Pakistan to legitimise terrorism. Pakistan has no right whatsoever to comment on India’s internal matters. Jammu and Kashmir is a Union Territory and an integral, inseparable part of India—it was, is, and will always remain so.

Pakistan made false and self-serving statements on ‘Operation Sindoor’

P. Harish said that Pakistan’s sole agenda is to harm his country and its people. In May last year, Pakistan made false and self-serving statements regarding Operation Sindoor. Until 9 May, Pakistan was issuing threats of further attacks against India; however, on 10 May, the Pakistani military directly contacted the Indian Army via telephone and requested a halt to hostilities. Due to Indian action, several Pakistani Air Force bases suffered damage. Photographs of destroyed runways and burnt hangars (aircraft shelters) are publicly available.

India also rebukes Pakistan on the Indus Water Treaty

P. Harish stated that 65 years ago, India entered into the Indus Water Treaty in a spirit of goodwill, good intentions, and friendship. Over six and a half decades, Pakistan violated the spirit of this treaty by waging three wars against India and carrying out thousands of terrorist attacks. Thousands of Indians have lost their lives in Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attacks. Therefore, India clarified that until Pakistan stops promoting cross-border terrorism, India had no choice but to decide to keep the treaty in abeyance.

Editorial Perspective

No matter how much thick-skinned Pakistan is reprimanded with words, it has repeatedly been seen that it has no effect on it. It understands only the language of weapons. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj set an example of how terrorism should be eliminated through the slaying of Afzal Khan. When will India learn from this and act accordingly ?
