Islamabad (Pakistan) – There has been a split in Pakistani Jihadi terrorist organization ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba’. As per reports, this split has taken place between the head of this organization, Hafiz Saeed, and his close associates. Indian intelligence agencies have received information in this regard. This split may pose a new challenge to Pakistan’s internal security. Reportedly, the Indian security agencies are closely monitoring these developments.
1. The result of ‘Operation Sindoor’ behind the split
Lashkar-e-Taiba has so far been working according to the policy of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence). Internal tensions have started increasing in the organization in recent times. Some terrorists in the organization have started expressing dissatisfaction due to some decisions taken last month. Due to this, internal differences have arisen in the organization, and it has split into two groups, an official of the Indian intelligence department has informed a news channel. These officials have also clarified that this internal discontent in the terrorist organization is the result of India’s military operation ‘Operation Sindoor’.
2. The Pakistan Army did not provide protection during ‘Operation Sindoor’
Operation Sindoor caused huge damage to the infrastructure and network of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Reportedly, this has made it difficult for the organization to recover. Many terrorist commanders and operatives have now lost faith in the ISI and the Pakistani army. The terrorists also feel that the Pakistani army did not provide adequate protection during this Indian operation, an Indian intelligence official said.
3. Won’t help the Pakistani army
In the last few years, the ‘Baloch National Army’ and ‘Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan’ have created a lot of terror in Pakistan. The Pakistani Government sought the help of Lashkar-e-Taiba to control them; however, a large group of the organization strongly opposed this decision. According to Indian intelligence officials, the Pakistani Government is currently prioritizing the interests of China and the West. Along with China, the United States also has its eyes on the rare minerals in the Balochistan province. The two organizations in this region, the ‘Baloch National Army’ and the ‘Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan’, have brought the Pakistani Government to its knees. They have decided that under no circumstances will the precious metals in their province be sold abroad.

4. Why fight our own people ? : LeT terrorists question Pakistan Government
‘Why should we fight our own people (TTP and Baloch Army) to protect the interests of China and the West ?’, many in Lashkar-e-Taiba have started asking the Pakistani Government. ‘Since its establishment, our organization has always openly supported the Taliban. We will not tolerate the action taken by the Pakistani army against pro-Taliban groups in Afghanistan,’ a group in this organization has also warned. ‘We should all come together and fight only against India and the West,’ they say. Earlier, the dispute within the organization was suppressed; but now that it is being expressed openly, the Pakistani Government is more worried.
5. Pakistan used us : LeT commander Mohammad Ashfaq Rana
A video of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Mohammad Ashfaq Rana has been circulating on social media, wherein he criticizes Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir. “The Government and the army have only taken advantage of us. They have failed to protect us in times of crisis. Pakistan is currently in a mountain of debt. If even half of the amount taken was used for good purposes instead of corruption, the country would have prospered,” Ashfaq said.
If disgruntled terrorists join organizations like Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, the Pakistani Government could face a major challenge of terrorism. It could also have serious implications for the security of the entire South Asian region. Therefore, it remains to be seen what exactly the Pakistani Government is trying to do to prevent a split within Lashkar-e-Taiba.
