Khalistani and Bangladeshi terrorists plan to target Delhi on Republic Day

New Delhi – Just days ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, the intelligence agencies on Saturday issued an alert warning against a possible attempt by Khalistani outfits and Bangladesh-based terror organisations to target New Delhi and several other cities across the country.

According to the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Punjab-based gangsters are “acting as foot soldiers for Khalistani and radical handlers operating from abroad”. As per the alert, these gangsters active across Haryana, Delhi-National Capital Region, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, are gradually establishing links with Khalistani terrorist elements. These gangs, to spread terror and fear in society, are now turning to terrorist activities. These gangs have besides handmade guns and weapons possess huge supply of modern weapons. This is a serious matter for the internal security of the nation.

Editorial Perspective

It is a shame that even now we have to celebrate Republic Day and Independence Day under the shadow of fear about terrorism.
