Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander Admits

Islamabad (Pakistan) — A key training centre used to groom terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba has been completely destroyed in Indian military action under ‘Operation Sindoor’, a senior LeT commander has publicly admitted.
Speaking at a public gathering, LeT operative Hafiz Abdul Rauf acknowledged that Markaz-e-Taiba was reduced to rubble during Indian strikes on May 6 and 7, 2025. “What happened on those two days was a massive attack. That place is no longer a mosque. It is impossible even to sit there now. Everything has been destroyed,” he said.
This admission poses a serious diplomatic challenge for Pakistan, as allegations that Islamabad had long denied have now been confirmed not by any intelligence agency, but by a Lashkar-e-Taiba commander himself.
1. Rauf was directly involved in training terrorists and facilitating their infiltration into India from launch pads located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. While Pakistan had projected Markaz-e-Taiba as a religious and charitable centre for years, India had consistently maintained that it functioned as Lashkar-e-Taiba’s principal terror hub, where militants were trained.
2. In his speech, Rauf further claimed that Pakistan provides a free and conducive environment for jihad, making recruitment and training of terrorists easier there than anywhere else in the world. He stated that this was possible due to decisions taken at the state level.
3. Rauf openly praised China, claiming that during the period of heightened India–Pakistan tensions following the Pahalgam incident, China immediately shared intelligence inputs with Pakistan.
4. The disclosure reinforces India’s long-standing position that terror infrastructure in Pakistan operates with institutional support, and that ‘Operation Sindoor’ was aimed at dismantling these entrenched networks.
