Kashmir’s Asiya Andrabi convicted in a terrorism case

Sentencing to be pronounced on January 17

New Delhi – Asiya Andrabi, the founder of the banned jihadi organization Dukhtaran-e-Millat in Kashmir and a separatist leader, along with her associates Sofi Fahmida and Nahida Nasreen, has been convicted in a terrorism case by a court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The hearing on the sentence will be held on January 17.

Asiya Andrabi was arrested in 2018. She was charged with waging war against the nation, spreading hatred among the people, and conspiring to carry out terrorist activities under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. She is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi.

Asiya Andrabi is married to Dr. Qasim Faktoo. Dr. Qasim is a terrorist commander and is presently serving a life sentence.

Asiya’s organization was working, with the assistance of terrorist group leaders based in Pakistan, to incite the people of Kashmir against the Government of India. The accused were spreading anti-India and provocative messages through social media.
