India slides to 12th place in the list of 10 most powerful nations

New Delhi – World Population Review has released a list of the world’s 10 most powerful countries for 2026. However, this time India is not included in the list of the top 10 countries. India has been ranked 12th . This is despite India being the world’s fourth-largest economy, the fourth-largest military power, and the most populous country in the world. This is considered very surprising. In the list  The United States of America, China, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, France, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel are mentioned as the 10 most powerful countries.

The World Population Review uses for evaluation five characteristics: political and economic influence, ‘NATO’ like international military alliances, alliances, level of AI and other technological discoveries, Stability and Governance inside the nation and the recognition for the leadership of the country on the International stage are all considered for the ranking.

Editorial perspective

Who will believe a list released by the ‘World Population Review’ organisation ? Despite India’s economic and strategic strength steadily increasing over the past few years and its growing recognition worldwide as a powerful nation, what else can explain India’s exclusion from this list if not sheer anti-India bias ?
