‘Love Jihad’ is a conspiracy to weaken India from within : Shankaracharya

Pune, January 11th – “Love Jihad is a deliberate conspiracy to weaken India from within. Christian missionaries are systematically carrying out religious conversions. The government must take concrete steps to ensure that the Hindu population does not diminish. India must frame strict legal provisions to punish those who are orchestrating the Love Jihad conspiracy,” asserted Anantashri Vibhushit Pashchimnaya Dwarkashardapeethadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Parampujya Swami Sadanand Saraswati Maharaj.

Swami Sadanand Saraswati Maharaj was speaking after delivering a deeply moving discourse on the Bhagavata Katha during the anniversary celebrations of Vedacharya Ghaisas Guruji Vedic school. Following the discourse, representatives of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and the Rashtrabakt Advocates Committee met the Shankaracharya, during which he made the above observations.

During this interaction, Mr Nagesh Joshi of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Advocate Mugdha Bivalakar of the Rashtrabakt Advocates Committee briefed the Shankaracharya about the initiatives being undertaken to push for the enactment of an anti–Love Jihad law. Mr Nagesh Joshi also presented the Samiti’s book titled “Love Jihad” to him. Subsequently, Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati Maharaj displayed the book to all those present.

Addressing the gathering, he further stated: “This is a conscious and calculated conspiracy to gain control over India’s governance. Awareness must be created through education and religious programmes. Children must be taught religion in schools. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resource Development should ensure that Hindu children are taught about Hindu Dharma. If every Hindu understands their religion, they will remain protected from such conspiracies.”

Vedacharya Shri Ghaisas Guruji Vedic school has been working for the past 80 years in the study, teaching, promotion, and propagation of the Vedas through the traditional Gurukul system.
On the occasion of the school’s anniversary, a series of programmes have been organised from January 4th to January 12th, aimed at preserving the tradition of studying and teaching the 10 mandalas of the Rigveda.
