
Rishikesh (Uttarakhand) – It has come to light that some of the accused who made quilts and mattresses in Rishikesh, known as the pilgrimage city, removed the cotton from the quilts and mattresses of the deceased and sold it by mixing it with new cotton. Amit Singh, a resident of Dandi Ranipokhari, had filed a complaint against the perpetrators of this prohibited act. On the basis of this complaint, the police registered a case and arrested 3 accused named Salman, Hamid and Sanjay. The police are investigating the matter.
1. The complainant, Amit Singh, said, “In Rishikesh area, some fanatic youths are collecting the mattresses of the deceased and extracting cotton from them and mixing it with new cotton and selling it. This is an act of hurting religious sentiments,” he said in his complaint. The police registered a case and raided the shop at Ranipokhari Chowk. The police arrested 3 accused after verifying the incident during the investigation.
2. Many times, the quilts and mattresses used by the deceased are discarded by the family. The accused youths used to collect such mattresses and sell them.
3. At present, there is severe cold in Uttarakhand. The maximum temperature in Rishikesh is 15 degrees and the minimum temperature is 6 degrees. As a result, quilts and mattresses are being sold in large numbers.
4. People are angry after the incident of cotton being used in the quilts and mattresses of the deceased persons, has been revealed.
