Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) – The police recently arrested Mohammed Ibrahim, a member of the gang that illegally settled Rohingya Muslims infiltrating in India. He is suspected to have settled more than 200 Rohingyas in 12 states of India. The network of Rohingya infiltrators has spread to Myanmar, then Bangladesh and then from Assam to Kashmir in India. To avoid detection, they were found hiding in different states.

1. According to the information received from Mohammad Ibrahim, Mohammad Hashim alias Nasir and Shoktara, who were apprehended at Kanpur Central station, all three are originally from Mogando Rakhine area of Nasafuru district of Myanmar. They were living in a refugee camp in Bangladesh.

2. Muhammad Ibrahim came to India from Bangladesh in 2017. He stayed in Delhi for some time and moved to Jammu in the year 2024. After that, he became active in the work of bringing Rohingyas from Bangladesh to India and settling them. Investigators are probing him thoroughly.
