Two local agents also arrested

Nashik, Maharashtra – Police have arrested six Bangladeshi nationals in Nashik city of Maharashtra for staying illegally in India, officials said on Saturday. These women were held from Kavthekarwadi near the famous Pandavleni caves on Friday, they said, adding that a local man who helped them for the illegal stay in India was also arrested. Acting on a tip-off that some Bangladesh women are living in Kavthekarwadi, Pandavleni area illegally, the police laid a trap and took in custody these six women aged between 25 and 41 years, they added.
The accused women crossed into India using the “donkey route” (illegally entering another country by taking stops in different countries). They came to Nashik via Kolkata, Surat, and Mumbai.
The arrested women have been identified as:
- Shilpi Mohammad Shukarali Akther alias Shilpi Akther (age 25)
- Soumya Santosh Nayak alias Sultana Shabbir Sheikh (age 28)
- Muniya Khatoon Tuku Sheikh (age 29)
- Sonya Kabirul Mandal alias Sania Raufik Sheikh (age 27)
- Mukta Jolil Sheikh (age 35)
- Shyamoli Begum alias Shyamoli Samsu Khan (age 35)
