Jaipur (Rajasthan) – After midnight on December 25, religious fanatics pelted stones at the Police in Chomu town of the District following a dispute related to a mosque. Several Police personnel were injured in the incident. As the situation began to deteriorate, the Police had to fire tear gas shells and resort to a lathi charge. After strict action, the situation was brought under control within a few hours. Following the incident, as a precautionary measure, heavy Police deployment has been made at the Chomu bus stand and surrounding areas.
Dispute while removing stones near the mosque
According to available information, work to remove stones that had accumulated along the roadside near the mosque premises had been underway since the evening of December 25. As these stones had been lying on the road for a long time, they were obstructing traffic and causing congestion. Local Muslims opposed the removal of the stones, and a large number of them gathered at the spot. During this time, some Muslims suddenly began intense stone-pelting at the Police.
To maintain peace, the Divisional Commissioner issued orders imposing a temporary ban on internet services in the Chomu area from 7am on December 26 to 7am on December 27.
Editorial PerspectiveThis incident has once again brought to light that fanatic Muslims consider any excuse sufficient to attack Hindus and the Police. Many Hindus feel that it is necessary to create a strong deterrent so that fanatics do not dare to engage in such acts when there is a BJP government in Rajasthan. |
