Statement by Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina

New Delhi – The death of Sharif Osman Hadi reflects a further deterioration in the anarchy under the Muhammad Yunus regime. Violence has now become a routine occurrence in Bangladesh, and the interim government is unable to control it. Such incidents destabilise Bangladesh internally and also impact its relations with neighbouring countries. Neighbouring nations are closely observing this situation. India is watching every aspect of the current anarchy in Bangladesh, including atrocities against minorities and, in particular, attacks on Hindus, former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said. Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India.
The Yunus Government released terrorists from prison!
Sheikh Hasina further claimed that lakhs of Bangladeshis, who earlier preferred a safe and secular state, are now deeply concerned. Yunus has given space in the cabinet to individuals with extremist tendencies. Convicted terrorists have been released from prison, and groups linked to international terrorist organisations have been granted permission to play a role in public life.
Editorial PerspectiveAt present, India appears to be merely observing the situation. In reality, India must take action and protect Hindus in Bangladesh. No one can deny that if Israel were in India’s place and Jews were in the place of Hindus, the situation would have been very different. |
