70 kg of beef, 2 cows and 3 calves seized

Thane: In the Padgha area of Bhiwandi, cows were slaughtered in broad daylight in an open space. When police attempted to stop those involved in the slaughter, they were attacked and pushed by the cattle smugglers. Police have seized 70 kg of beef, two cows and three calves. Chopped pieces of slaughtered cow meat were found in nearby bushes, while two cows and three calves were found tied to a tree a short distance away. Samples of the beef have been handed over to veterinary officials, and permission has been sought from a magistrate to destroy the remaining meat. The seized cattle have been sent to a gaushala for care. A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
