Hindus protest across the country against the murder of Deepu Chandra Das in Bangladesh

New Delhi – Street protests have also begun in India over the murder of Deepu Chandra. Since the morning of December 23rd, protests were held outside the Bangladesh embassy and high commission in many cities including the capital Delhi, Jammu, Patna, Kolkata, Bhopal, Surat, Hyderabad, etc. Also, on this occasion, the effigy of Muhammad Yunus was burnt. Letters were submitted to the high commission in some places. Thousands of Hindus participated in these protests. Organizations such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena, Hindu Vahini also participated. Through these protests, justice was demanded for the family of the victim Deepu Chandra Das. A large number of Police personnel were deployed at this place.

Protesting Saints and activists lathi-charged in Kolkata

In Kolkata, devout Hindus were protesting against the murder of Deepu Chandra Das. Sadhus, Saints and Hindu activists participated in this. While they were peacefully protesting, the Police brutally assaulted them with batons. Sadhus and Saints also suffered beatings. Some people were injured in this. Protect Indian medical students studying in Bangladesh : ‘All India Medical Students Association’ demands to PM Modi

The All India Medical Students Association has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking urgent intervention regarding the safety of Indian medical students studying in Bangladesh. The organization has stated that the situation in Bangladesh is extremely unstable, and students are living in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. The organization has demanded a diplomatic initiative from the Union Government, a proactive role of embassies, and transparent communication with the students and their families.

Jammu High Court Bar Association’s agitation

The Jammu High Court Bar Association staged a massive protest against the attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh. At this time, the advocates raised slogans demanding assurance of security for the minority Hindus in Bangladesh. The President of the Bar Association, Advocate Nirmal Kotwal, said that the citizens of Jammu are standing firmly with the Hindu community living in Bangladesh. The Union Government should take a tough stand against the Bangladesh Government and strengthen the security of the Hindus there. Advocate Nirmal Kotwal also demanded a thorough investigation of the Bangladeshi citizens and Rohingyas living in Jammu, so that no security lapses occur. The Bar Association emphasized the need to raise this issue seriously at the international level as well.

Visa services from Bangladesh temporarily suspended

Bangladesh has temporarily suspended visa services at its High Commission in New Delhi and its subsidiary offices in Tripura amid rising tensions with India and ongoing protests. The decision was reportedly taken due to unavoidable circumstances. A private agency handling visa application processes in Siliguri, Bengal, has also suspended its services.

It is commendable that Hindus have staged protests across the country; however, it should not be limited to one day or a few hours, this fire and anger must continue to be expressed until Hindus are safe not only in Bangladesh but throughout the world.
