Bharat Mandapam, Indraprastha (New Delhi) : On the occasion of ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav’, a historic Exhibition of weapons from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s times was organised here from 13th – 15th December. Hon. Kapil Mishra (Minister for Culture and Tourism, Government of Delhi) lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate this Exhibition.

The collector of these weapons, Mr Rakesh Dhawade, said to Mr Kapil Mishra – “There is no museum for such weapons anywhere in the country. Would you be able to establish one ?” In response, Mr Kapil Mishra assured, “We will establish a grand museum in the heart of New Delhi dedicated to the tradition of Indian weapons and traditional arms”.

This Exhibition was widely advertised across New Delhi through banners and hoardings. As a result, citizens of New Delhi showed keen interest, and the Exhibition received a very enthusiastic response.

Along with this, visitors also had the opportunity to view an Exhibition of sattvik Books and products produced by Sanatan Sanstha.

This Exhibition is truly extra ordinary ! : Hon. Kapil Mishra

These weapons of the Maratha martial tradition from the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and this exhibition are truly extraordinary. India has a vast and rich history of knowledge and weapons tradition. It is essential for everyone to know about the valour of India’s heroes. Until now, only Mughal history was taught in school curriculum. In reality, the Mughals could not step outside the Red Fort without the permission of the Marathas. The true history of Delhi is not one of slavery, but of bravery and valour – and this history has remained hidden until now.

Shivashahi descended at the Exhibition Venue !

Various Exhibitions are held at Bharat Mandapam; however, since the Exhibition of weapons was held in Delhi for the first time, residents viewed it with great curiosity and enthusiasm. Cut-outs depicting the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Baji Prabhu Deshpande, and the Mavalas were also displayed. Information on the valour of the Marathas was available to read through digital display boards. As a result, it felt as though Shivashahi itself descended at the Exhibition Venue.
