No need to live apart for a year for divorce : Delhi HC

New Delhi – Husbands and wives getting a consensual divorce are not required to live apart for one year. This condition created under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 may be waived in appropriate cases. In such a situation, it would be wrong to keep the husband and wife in the wrong relationship rather than free them from the bond of marriage. The High Court ruled that this would cause unnecessary mental and emotional stress to the couple.
