Devout Hindu Mayank Jain felicitated by Shankaracharya Shri Swami Avimukteshwaranand

New Delhi – A documentary titled “Crimson Crescent – The Last Quarter” by the devout Hindu Mayank Jain was formally released on 12 December at the “Kurukshetra Gurukul Foundation Dharma Alankar” programme by Jagadguru Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Shri Swami Avimukteshwaranand. On this occasion, Shankaracharya also presented Mayank Jain with an award. Mayank Jain stated that this was not merely an award, but an acknowledgment received by a cultural movement.

The documentary “Crimson Crescent – The Last Quarter” provides information on how Wahhabi ideology (which emphasizes a literal interpretation of the Quran and Sunnah) is propagated through madarasas in Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. The documentary also notes that winds of reform are beginning to blow in Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), who has been spreading this ideology. The film raises the question: “Will Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bring reforms within radical Islam?”
