Mumbai – Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had made an outrageous statement that ‘during Operation Sindoor, India was defeated on the first day and the Indian Air Force was paralyzed.’ The BJP has criticized him and has also demanded an apology; but Prithviraj Chavan responded saying, “There is no question of apologizing. I will not apologize. I have the right to ask questions. Why should I apologize ?”
What did Prithviraj Chavan say ?
After the Pahalgam attack, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’. Within half an hour on the first day, some of its aircraft were shot down. After that, all the army aircraft were grounded. On that day, Indian fighter aircraft did not take off anywhere. Not a single aircraft took off from the air base in Gwalior, Bathinda or Sirsa. The Indian army did not move even a kilometer during Operation Sindoor. In this war that lasted for 2-3 days, only air strikes and missiles were fired. Wars will be fought in the same way in the future as well. Why should we maintain an army of 12 lakh then ? The Indian army suffered losses during ‘Operation Sindoor’; but the Union Government has not brought this information into light, said former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan at a press conference in Pune.
Editorial PerspectiveIndia faces a bigger threat from leaders like Chavan who spread ideological pollution against India as compared to the threat from external enemies. It is tragic that such a traitorous leader, who openly shows distrust in the performance of the Indian Army, was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for some time. |
