Nagpur, 11 December- A case should be registered against the responsible officers for the damage caused to the ancient idol of Lord Brahma in ShrikshetraTulajapur Mandir and there should be a designates space should be reserved for carrying out religious rituals as per the traditions and legacy, without tampering with the Shri Tulajapur Teerthkshetra Development Plan. A memorandum with these demands was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to Mr. Pratap Sarnaik, the guardian minister of Dharashiv District on 10.12.2025 at Vidhan Bhavan. Mr. Sarnaikimmediately called up the DharashivDistrict Collector and instructed him to submit a report on the matterat the earliest. Mr. Sunil Ghanwat, national convener of ‘Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh’, and HJS activists Mr.Atul Arvenla and Mr. Abhijit Polke were present on the occasion.

The memorandum states that idols of several ‘Updevatas’ (Deities other than the main deity) were shifted from the temple premises even before the commencement of the work related to the development of Shri Tulajapur shrine. The ancient idol of Shri Brahmadev has sustained damages due to negligencein the initial stages of the project hurtingreligious sentiments of Hindus. Despite complaintsby many local organizations and citizens, why has no action has been taken against the guilty officers in the last two and a half months? An Inquiry has to be conducted in the matter and criminal cases have to beregistered. Additionally,it is essential to seek theopinions of scholars of ‘Dharmashastras’, ‘Dharmacharyas’, and Shankaracharya Peethas to have a religious perspective on the plan. Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh has also demanded that the main entrance be retained in its original formandthe layout of the temple not be changed by making a new entrance on the rear side.
