Pentagon’s former official Michael Rubin demands
(The US Department of Defense headquarters is known as the ‘Pentagon’)
Washington (USA) – There is no strategic justification for the United States to maintain warm relations with Pakistan. America must exert pressure on Pakistan over terrorism, because Pakistan shelters terrorists and uses them against India. The US should stop praising Pakistan altogether. Declaring Pakistan a “state sponsor of terrorism” would be the most appropriate step. If Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir visits the US, he should be arrested, not honoured, demanded former Pentagon official Michael Rubin in an interview with an Indian news agency.
The US should apologise to India
Rubin added that some decisions must be taken quietly, behind the scenes. At some point, it is necessary for the US to openly apologise for the way it has treated India. Although President Donald Trump is not inclined towards apology, the interest of the democratic world is far greater than any individual’s ego.
Trump’s failures are pushing India closer to Russia
Rubin claimed that it is President Donald Trump’s failures that are driving India and Russia closer. Russian President Vladimir Putin has assured India of an uninterrupted supply of fuel. Meanwhile, Trump’s policies have caused hardship to American citizens, straining relations between Washington and New Delhi. Rubin also questioned whether this entire situation has arisen because of Washington’s appeasement of Pakistan.
