Mr Avaneesh Sharma and Mr Chetan Rajhans

Introduction : Mr Avaneesh Sharma, the Editor of ‘Prarabdh’ YouTube channel interviewed Mr Chetan Rajhans, national spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha in the background of ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav’ to be held on 13 and 14 December 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Mr Chetan Rajhans explained in detail about this event. Given below is a gist of this interview.

1. The concept behind organising ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav (Shankhnad Mahotsav)’ :

Sanatan Sanstha was established in 1999. This ‘ Shankhnad Mahotsav’ is being organised on the occasion of completion of 25 years of Sanatan Sanstha. The Sanstha was established as a spiritual organisation and some people feel that the concept of Sanatan Rashtra is in a way cultural, national and political; but the Sanstha has been following its original path of spreading spirituality. In 1987, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Athavale met his Guru Saint Bhaktaraj Maharaj. Under whose guidance, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale performed spiritual practice.

In 1995, Guru, in his last moment, advised his disciple Dr Jayant Athavale, “After 2012, ‘Tamasik’ political powers will start getting eliminated. In 2020, there will be an epidemic and after 2025, there will be a favourable period for Hindu Rashtra in India. You will have to build the nation based on the formula of spirituality learnt by you under Sanatan Dharma. Our Sanatan tradition, Sanatan culture and cultural nationalism will have to be revived and for that, you conduct research in a scientific method.”

In 1995, Dr Athavale wrote the book titled ‘Establishment of Divine Kingdom’ wherein the above facts have been mentioned. On this principle, the first ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav’ was successfully organised in May 2025 in Goa. More than 30,000 seekers and devout Hindus attended this event. Now, the second ‘Shankhnad Mahotsav’ is being held in Delhi for the main purpose of reviving Sanatan traditions, civility and culture and establish them as our cultural nationalism.

2. Different debates and lectures in ‘Shankhnad Mahotsav’

A. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj envisioned ‘Swarajya’ which was basically Sanatan Rashtra and an ideal governance. Taking into account this fact, on the first day i.e. on 13.12.2025, the concept has been decided as ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and protection of culture’. ‘Sanatan Sanvad’ will be held on ‘the Method of Working of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Today’s India’ from the viewpoint of good governance, culture, temples and judicial system. India’s ex-Chief Justice Uday Lalit, advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain associated with ‘Mandir-mukti’ movement and writer Shefali Vaidya will participate in this debate. ‘Sanskruti-Sanvad’ has also been organised on this day wherein there will be discussions on the issue of decline of Indian culture; so also, on ‘Sanskruti Jagruti (Cultural Awareness)’. ‘Mandir Sanvad’ programme has been organised later, in which there will be discussions on the issues related to Hindu temples and guidance on the consequent actions to be taken.

B. On 14.12.2025, there will be debate on ‘National Security’ with the concept of Security of India under the security of Sanatan Dharma. The basic message of Sanatan Rashtra is to be spread through the medium of this event. There will be discussions on internal security and external security in which retired officers of army, navy and air force will participate. Retired scientists of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will also join the discussions. The discussions will include issues related to naxalism and urban naxalism. There will be guidance on the contribution of social, and cultural organisations and individuals in India’s progress. The programme will conclude with the guidance of H. H. Swami Govindadev Giri.

3. Exhibition on ‘Swarajyacha Shauryanad’ :

An exhibition will be held on 13, 14 and 15 December 2025 titled ‘Swarajyacha Shauryanad’. It will be a rare exhibition of valuable historical weapons; including weapons used in the regime of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. There will be eight weapons used by him along with his ‘Bhavani Talwar’. There will also be weapons used by other leaders of armed forces of Maratha empire; e.g. there will be a spear used by Sardar Hambirrao Mohite. A few weapons used during the rule of Maharana Pratap and during Vijaya Nagar empire will be special attractions of this exhibition.

4. ‘Darshan’ of original Somnath ‘Jyotirlinga’ after 1,000 years

Somnath Jyotirlinga, out of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is in Saurashtra in Gujarat. Soma means the moon. Somnath is the name of the God of moon. This Jyotirlinga was floating in air. Wind was blowing from below the Jyotirlinga due to magnetic field. It was not made of ingredients found on the earth but made of ingredients found on the Moon. Hindus had immense faith in it; therefore, Mohammad Gazani destroyed it a thousand years ago. Later, a local family of priest collected all the remnants of that ‘Shivalinga’ and took them to Tamil Nadu.

The family and their descendants preserved it for a thousand years. They felt that Kanchi Shankaracharya will be able to keep it safely; therefore, they went to him in 1924. Swamiji advised them, “You preserve it for another 100 years; as after 100 years, a grand temple of Prabhu Shriram will be built in Ayodhya; ‘Mahakumbha’ will be held in Prayagraj in 2025. Bathe these remnants during the Kumbha after which there will be a favourable period for Hindu Rashtra. That time, keep it for ‘Darshan’ for people.” For the first time at Bharat Mandapam, this divine Jyotirlinga will be made available for ‘Darshan’ on the occasion of ‘Shankhnad Mahotsav’.
