Speaking in the winter session of the Lok Sabha during a discussion on Waqf property, Nadvi said that the Muslim community would have to “fight again” and “wage jihad” for its rights.

Ruling party MPs strongly objected to his remarks, describing them as provocative, inflammatory, and irresponsible. They said that using words like “jihad” in Parliament sends a dangerous message to society and increases communal tension.
