Anyone trying to stop construction of the ‘Babri’ mosque will be beheaded, says TMC MLA Humayun Kabir

Murshidabad (Bengal) – TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has issued a severe threat linked to the proposed mosque named ‘Babri’, stating openly that anyone attempting to obstruct its construction would be beheaded. Kabir’s remarks surfaced after he announced that the foundation stone for the mosque would be laid on 6 December in the Beldanga area of Murshidabad.

A video circulated on social media shows Kabir purportedly declaring, “There will be bloodshed if anyone tries to block the construction of the mosque. Anyone who resists me, I will behead him. Muslims currently constitute 27 per cent of the population and will reach 40 per cent by the time the Babri Mosque is built. Let us see who can stop us. We warn them – if they kill 100 of our people during the construction of Babri, we will ensure that 500 are killed. This is Murshidabad, not Ayodhya. Anyone who tries to touch the mosque will face the consequences.”

Kabir issued this bold threat at a time when the Muslim population in Murshidabad district has reportedly reached 70 per cent.

The BJP criticised Kabir’s remarks, alleging that the Trinamool Congress is attempting to polarise voters through deliberate religious provocation.

Editorial Perspectives

  • These threats indicate that the Trinamool Congress is preparing to turn Bengal into another Bangladesh. Despite the severity of the threat, no action has reportedly been taken against Kabir, nor has any police case been registered, raising doubts about the state of law and order in Bengal.

  • Those who express outrage over chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ remain silent when an individual openly threatens beheading over the “Babri” issue.

  • Murshidabad district has an estimated 70 per cent Muslim population. Hindus should take note of what happens when Muslims become a demographic majority and be prepared to establish India as ‘Hindu Rashtra’ at the earliest.

  • Those who frequently file complaints about alleged hate speech against pro-Hindutva groups are silent on the provocative remarks made by MLA Humayun Kabir.
