Ram and Lakshman are not ideal, they were cruel : B.T. Lalita Naik, Literary figure from Karnataka

Davanagere (Karnataka) – Writer B.T. Lalita Naik has stated that Shriram, Lakshman, and Ravan in the Ramayan are not ideal figures, but they were cruel. She was speaking at the conclusion of a seminar held at the auditorium of the A.V.K. Mahila Mahavidyalaya in the city on November 23rd.

Anti-Hindu statements made by Lalita Naik

Everyone was portrayed as an ideal person in the name of devotion

Deity Shriram, who is revered among Hindus, became suspicious of his wife and asked his brother Lakshman to abandon her in the forest. Shriram wanted her to become food for the wild animals. Lakshman should have said that it was wrong, but he did not. Lakshman had a habit of cutting off noses; that is why he cut off Shurpanakha’s nose. Ravan, who was known as a great warrior, stole and abducted another’s wife, but all these are portrayed as ideal persons in the name of devotion. (Lalita Naik is speaking nonsense just because she has a mouth! If she had made such statements regarding other religions, she would have received threats of ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’/beheading by now – Editor).

Gandhi only had a charkha in his hand

Buddha, the symbol of peace, has no sword, shield or dagger in his hand. M. Gandhi has only a charkha in his hand, but recently, Shriram has been given a bow and arrow. (How can one say that Lalita Naik, who uses the word ‘recently’, does not know history ? This is a deliberate attempt to corrupt the minds of Hindus – Editor).

Temples are pushing people towards superstition

Temples are pushing people towards superstition. Education is the only solution to get out of superstition. (Can Naik talk about the fact that terrorists are found in mosques and madarasas ? Can she tell what ‘faith’ is taught there? – Editor).

Editorial Perspectives

  • It has now become fashionable to make such statements. Hence, it has become necessary to enact a law that punishes such people with the death penalty for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
  • If some devout Hindu were to give her an open challenge to ‘make a similar statement regarding Muslim places of worship’, would she have the courage to accept it ?
