The Delhi riots were part of a conspiracy to overthrow the Government of India : Delhi Police

  • Information submitted by Delhi Police to the Supreme Court!

  • They informed the court that similar regime-change attempts had occurred earlier in Nepal and Bangladesh.

New Delhi – The protests that took place in Delhi in 2020 against the Citizenship Amendment Act were not simple sit-ins or ordinary demonstrations. Under the guise of these protests, a conspiracy was hatched to incite riots and use them to overthrow the government. Similar attempts were later made in Bangladesh and Nepal.

During the riots in Delhi, people who came to protest were carrying sticks and bottles of acid. They had arrived prepared to carry out major attacks, according to assertions made by the Delhi Police in an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court.

The police have referred to Umar Khalid as a “supporter of traitors” in the Supreme Court.

1. During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General S. V. Raju stated that the bail for the accused had not been granted because the case was being prolonged. The accused themselves are responsible for the delay. If they cooperate, everything will be concluded within two years.

2. During the hearing, references were made to the provocative speeches of Sharjeel Imam. It was reiterated that Umar Khalid raised the slogan “Bharat tere tukde honge” (“India will be broken into pieces”). A sedition case has been registered against Khalid.

3. Raju stated that Khalid had created several WhatsApp groups consisting of Muslim students. This fact came to light during the police investigation.

4. The police also alleged that Tahir Hussain, Ishrat Jahan, Khalid Saifi, Shifa-ur-Rahman, and Meeran Haider had funded the riots. Tahir Hussain is accused of providing ₹1 crore 30 lakh, and Shifa is accused of providing ₹89 lakh.

Editorial Perspective

If every person involved in this conspiracy is sentenced to death, no one will dare to plan such a plot in the future !
