Four Muslims brutally assaulted a Hindu youth in Karnataka

They looted ₹50,000 and also a gold ring

Shivamogga (Karnataka) – A shocking communal attack was reported in Shivamogga’s Marnami Bail on 17 November, where Hindu youth Harish was brutally assaulted by youths from the Islamic community. The Islamist assailants allegedly stopped him during his late-night walk and questioned him, “Are you Hindu or Muslim ? ” The moment Harish replied that he was Hindu, the men launched a violent attack. CCTV footage from the area has reportedly captured parts of the assault, strengthening the family’s claim that he was targeted solely for his religious identity.

According to Harish, he had stepped out after dinner for a short walk when three to four Islamist miscreants confronted him. They blocked his way, interrogated him about his faith, and immediately began beating him once he stated he was Hindu. As per reports, he attempted to escape but was chased and attacked again. Harish also stated that the attackers robbed ₹50,000 and his Gold ring. The incident has left him injured and shaken.

Following the assault, BJP MLA Channabasappa rushed to the locality after hearing that Harish’s family and residents were afraid to even file a complaint. He took a strong stand against Police inaction and personally escorted Harish to the Police station. The MLA confronted the officers, questioning why citizens need an MLA’s presence just to lodge a complaint and why innocent Hindus were being attacked while Police allegedly remained passive.

• Given that the Congress is in power in Karnataka; which is known for appeasing Muslims, what else can be expected ? What is wrong if someone feels that Hindus are now suffering the consequences of electing them ?
• As Congress is facing defeat everywhere, it is now trying hard to appease Muslims. Therefore, it would not be surprising if religion-based attacks like the one that happened in Pahalgam start occurring regularly in Karnataka !
