Three terrorists arrested in Gujarat

Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin, Azad Suleman Sheikh, Muhammad Suhel Salim Khan arrested

Karnavati (Gujarat) – The Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad has arrested three jihadist terrorists. They had come to Gujarat to exchange weapons. Saeed Ahmad Mohiuddin from Bhagyanagar (Telangana) was arrested in Karnavati, while Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohammed Suhel Salim Khan were arrested from Banaskantha. The latter two are from Uttar Pradesh. The three were planning terrorist operations across the country. Authorities recovered three pistols and 30 live rounds from them.

The squad said in an official statement that the trio had been under surveillance for the past year. They were caught red-handed while procuring arms. They were conspiring to carry out explosions and terrorist attacks at various locations in the country.

Plot to use chemical poison in terrorist attack

According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Sunil Jogi, Saeed Ahmad Mohiuddin completed his MBBS in China. He was preparing to carry out an attack in India that would cause widespread damage. He maintained numerous foreign contacts and was linked to a Telegram account named “Abu Khadija”, suspected to be connected to the Islamic State-Khorasan Province. He had been working on producing a lethal chemical poison called ricin, made from leftover castor bean husks. He had come to Karnavati to obtain this weapon and managed to procure the toxin here.

Deputy Inspector General Joshi added that Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohammed Suhel Salim Khan from Uttar Pradesh had received religious instruction and held extremist views. Their foreign contacts are also being investigated.

The two had collected information on crowded areas in Laxmanpuri, Dehli and Karnavati. Their movements have also been recorded in Kashmir. They had transported certain materials from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and unloaded them at Kalol near Karnavati.
