Three doctors seriously injured after being attacked by patient’s relatives

Shocking incident at Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital

Mumbai – At Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital, relatives of a patient attacked three doctors after midnight on 7 November. The incident as captured on the hospital’s CCTV cameras. The injured doctors, who sustained serious injuries, are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The Cooper branch of MARD (Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors) has lodged a complaint at Juhu Police Station.
According to reports, while treating a critical patient in the casualty department, the doctors called the patient’s relatives to sign a consent form. Without saying a word, the relatives suddenly began assaulting the doctors. At the time of the attack, the doctors had not yet declared the patient dead, yet they were beaten up. The hospital staff were left terrified by the unexpected violence. Following this incident, doctors have demanded immediate deployment of additional security personnel to ensure the safety of the hospital staff.
