Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted permission for the release of the Hindi film ‘Haq.’ The court dismissed a petition filed by Shah Bano’s daughter, Siddika Begum Khan, which sought an immediate ban on the film’s screening. ‘Haq’ was scheduled for release on 7th November 2025. Delivering its verdict on 6th November 2025, the High Court stated that the film does not violate anyone’s personal privacy.

1. In her petition, Siddika Begum claimed that “the filmmakers did not obtain consent from Shah Bano’s legal heirs before making the film. Moreover, the movie portrays Sharia law in a negative light, which could hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.”

2. Arguing on behalf of the filmmakers, advocates Ritik Gupta and Ajay Bagadia contended that “the film is entirely based on a fictional narrative and has no intention whatsoever to offend any individual or community.”

3. After hearing both sides, the High Court dismissed the petition and granted permission for the film’s release.
