10 injured in car-ramming attack on French island of Oléron; suspect shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’

Paris (France) – A man has been accused of ploughing his car into a crowd on the French island of Oléron on 5 November, reportedly shouting “Allahu Akbar” during the attack. At least ten people were injured, including two who are in critical condition.

The suspect, identified as Jean Guillot, aged 35, was arrested soon after the incident. During interrogation, police discovered gas canisters in the boot of his car, suggesting that he had planned to detonate them. Authorities are treating the incident as a possible terror attack.

According to police sources, Guillot has a criminal record with multiple cases of theft, assault, property damage, traffic violations, and drug use. An investigation is currently underway.
