
Guwahati (Assam) – Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a major revelation regarding the suspicious death of the state’s renowned singer and cultural icon, Jubin Garg, in Singapore. He stated that Jubin Garg was murdered; however, the investigation is still underway. Seven individuals have been arrested in this case, and Singapore Police are conducting a separate inquiry as well. The authorities have been directed to file a chargesheet by 8 December, informed the Chief Minister.
Among those arrested is Sandipan Garg, a relative of Jubin Garg and a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Assam. Others in custody include Singapore event organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, manager Siddharth Sharma, and band members Shekhar Jyoti and Amrit Prabha Mahanta. The singer’s bodyguards, Nandeshwar Bora and Prabir Baish, have also been arrested. The investigation has revealed that transactions worth approximately ₹1.10 crore were made from Jubin Garg’s bank accounts in recent days.
Jubin Garg, who was considered the ‘son of Assam’, died on 19 September 2025 while scuba diving in Singapore. He had travelled there for a music concert scheduled for 20–21 September.
