Executive Trustee of ‘Masurashram’ in Goregaon, Dilip Yerunkar passes away

Dilip Yerunkar

Mumbai – Dilip Yerunkar, the Executive Trustee of ‘Masurashram’ in Goregaon, founded by Dharmabhaskar Pujya Vinayak Masurkar Maharaj, passed away due to a heart attack on 3 November 2025. His final rites were performed on 4 November. Earlier that morning, his mortal remains were kept in the premises of Masurashram for devotees to pay their last respects, and a large number of devotees gathered to bid farewell. Dilip Yerunkar was known for his humility and soft-spoken nature. He was actively involved in various religious and social activities and was regarded as a pillar of support by many working in these fields.

The noble mission of reconversion of converted Hindus

Hindus who had converted to other religions often faced the question, “Who will perform the ritual for returning to Hindu Dharma, and where will it be done?” Masurashram has been performing such purification and reconversion rituals for years for those who wish to return to their ancestral Dharma. This work has been continuing unbroken since the time of Pujya Masurkar Maharaj. Since its establishment, the ashram has facilitated the reconversion of numerous Hindus who had earlier left their faith. As a result, various Hindu and Hindutva-aligned organisations hold deep reverence for this ashram. Dilip Yerunkar shared close relations with several such spiritual and Hindutva organisations.

Deep affection for Sanatan Sanstha

Dilip Yerunkar held profound respect for the founder of Sanatan Sanstha, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Balaji Athavale. He would often speak with devotion and express gratitude towards Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale. He had deep affection for Sanatan Sanstha and its seekers and would always extend his full support to them. He believed that “Sanatan’s Holy texts must reach everyone.” Hence, whenever any programme was held at the ashram, he would make sure Sanatan seekers were invited to set up a Holy text exhibition there. He was also a regular reader of the Daily Sanatan Prabhat.
