New Delhi – A video of a Muslim youth named Jaihak Tanveer is rapidly going viral on social media. In the video, Tanveer states that “Muslims’ ancestors were Hindus.” Introducing himself as a “writer” and an “Indian,” he makes this statement candidly. Many in the Hindu community have welcomed his words, while several Muslims have expressed strong displeasure. The video has already received over 90,000 likes.

1. In the video, Tanveer says, “Muslims living in India are often asked whether their ancestors were Hindus. But we are unwilling to accept it. The truth is, our ancestors were indeed Hindus.”

2. He further adds, “Many famous Muslims were not born as Muslims. Hazrat (Prophet Muhammad’s cousin) accepted Islam when he was six years old. Many Sahaba (companions of Prophet Muhammad) were originally Hindus who later embraced Islam.”

Editorial Perspectives

It is a historical fact that Muslims’ ancestors were Hindus; because Islam itself was founded only 1,400 years ago. Before that, people living in the Arabian lands practised life according to Hindu dharma. Idol worship was performed there and evidence exists for it. So if a Muslim himself states this truth, what is wrong with that ?

This history needs to be taught in textbooks fundamentally. That way, it will always be remembered that Hindus were forcibly converted and made Muslim !
