Karnataka’s Congress Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accuses the Union government

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – The Union government is constantly trying to impose Hindi on the state. Grants are given for the development of Hindi and Sanskrit, while other languages of the country are being neglected. English and Hindi languages are weakening the talents of our children. There should be a law to make mother tongue the medium of instruction. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday demanded that the Centre should make education in the mother tongue compulsory.He also appealed to the people of the state to oppose those who oppose Kannada language. He was speaking at the 70th Rajyotsava organized on the foundation day of Karnataka. “The Union government is treating Karnataka like a stepmother,” he said.
